Bio: I'm a Bassist/Composer. I have 3 albums released into the world as a leader and 1 book published of my original compositions. My first composition was published by American Composer Lou Harrison in 1982. Currently working on my next book about creativity and the 7 string bass, and pursuing my short stories. My 2nd and 3rd album were in the running for a Grammy for best Contemporary Jazz Album. Music is my life long passion, writing was the ugly cousin who is now blossoming. After 12 years of college, I received my BA from The American Conservatory of Music, Chicago,IL with a focus on Jazz Studies and Electric Bass in 1987. I've been playing bass for close to 40 years, but also I work in the computer industry to allow me to be an artist without the financial constraints that previously held me in the artist stereo type image. When I was in my 20's I wanted to be a writer. I had a Smith-Corona Type writer that I typed away on, drinking coffee, smoking and just spewing. None of it was any good really, but if felt good. I left my type writer for the bass . 40 years later I'm still playing bass and now staring into a glowing screen, thinking I ought to try this again.
